The Bràfim cooperative was founded
on the 25the of August 1930, to defend the interests of
the local farmers, through the production and commercialisation
of their products.
L'Agrícola i Caixa Agrària
i Secció de Crèdit de Bràfim currently
has the following divisions: A savings bank, viticulture,
oil production, dried fruits, agricultural supplies and
the cooperative's own shop.
It is a member of the Catalan Federation of
Agricultural Cooperatives and the Reus Agrarian Union.
Its wines are produced under the auspices
of the Denominació d'Origen Tarragona, The Denominació
CXava and the Denominació d'Origen Catalunya. The cooperative is a member of the CEOLPE oil Cooperative.
The members farm estates within the following
village districts: Bràfim, Montferri, Vilabella,
Puigpelat, Alió, Nulles, Vila-Rodona.
The climate is mediterranean with irregular
rainfall, but without extreme temperature changes. The resluting
wines have moderate alchohol levels and fruity aromatics.
