The cooperatives farmers cultivate seven hundred hectares
largely in the villages of Bràfim and Montferri.
The principal crops are grapes and olives, but also some
hectares of Hazlenuts, Almonds and fruit (cherries and plums).

The principal white varieties are macabeu, xarel·lo
and parellada.

Macabeu
Vigorous plant with good production levels. Middle
sized rounded grapes, the plant is very sensitive
to the cold and to rot.

Xarel·lo
Plant of medium vigour and loose bunches; medium
sized grapes with thick skins.

Parellada
Vigorous plant with good production levels, compact
bunches, regular sized grapes with very hard skins.

The principal red varieties are Ull de Llebre (the Catalan
name for Tempranillo) and Merlot.

Vigorous plant of medium production levels, long
compact bunches, large rounded grapes with hards skins.

Vigorous plant with good production levels, long
loose bunches and thick skins.

The two varieties cultivated in the area are the Arbequina
and Menya olives
|
Arbequina
The variety of the Siurana denomination, the Arbequina
is an excellent olive with high production levels
of small rounded olives giving high percentages of
oil.

Menya
This variety is unique to the area immediately around
Bràfim. Elongated black olives giving good
levels of oil production.
